Trying to buy the correct bra for a woman seems like mission impossible for men. Initially, they believe it is not that difficult, until they discover just what buying bras entails. When you consider that more than three-quarters of women wear wrong sized bras, it suddenly dawns on men what a hard task it is to buy a bra. After all, if someone who actually wears bras and presumably knows their breast size cannot get it right, what chance does a guy have?
How to Buy a Bra
Method one when it comes to buying bras is to sneakily look at her bra one day and get a measurement that way. This is not a good idea because she is probably one of the many women who wear bras which are the wrong size. A better plan is to actually help her measure her bust size so that she finally has a bra that supports her chest and back without pain.
Of course, even knowing correct bra size does not solve all your problems. There is the small matter of choosing between what seems like hundreds of different bra types. Below we look at some of the many varieties of bra so you can become an expert and delight your other half.
Consider Wiring When You Buy a Bra
Bras can either be underwired or have no wire whatsoever. Underwired bras have bits of curved wire underneath while bras minus the wiring are more comfortable but only suitable for women with decent-sized perky breasts. Sports bras have no wiring but does give exceptional support to women when exercising and prevents the breasts from bouncing up.
Consider Padding When You Buy a Bra
Padding: Padded bras are a Godsend for women that have not been blessed with a voluptuous figure. Gel and liquid filled pads are effective but could be uncomfortable due to the extra weight they carry. Air pads are weightless with an air pump used to increase the size of the bra.
Buying a Push-Up Bra
Push Up: Wonderbra made the push-up bra famous and it can transform a small-sized cleavage into something that generates wolf-whistles from building sites.
Balconette: These demi-bras' are designed to fit below the breast which in turn causes them to push up.
Miscellaneous Tips for Buying a Bra
Miscellaneous: Other types of bra include the multiway variety which have detachable straps that can be placed anywhere on the woman's body. Strapless bras actually have back straps. They get their name because there are no straps on show when the woman is wearing a strapless gown. Triangular bras are unsuitable for small breasted women as they are merely pieces of fabric shaped like a triangle which betrays the small breasts. Larger breasted women on the other hand may enjoy this type of bra because it attracts a lot of attention!
The above represents only a fraction of the number of bras that are available. Few women stray from the tried and trusted bra type however.
