Health Problems from Clothes That Are Too Tight

Did you know that wearing clothes which are too tight can cause health problems? It's true choosing tight-fitting garments can restrict your bodies movements and the natural functions of your internal organs. Despite the ever popular trend of corsets and skinny jeans, wearing tight clothes on a long-term basis can cause discomfort, headaches, back pain and other symptoms. We look at some common problems caused by too tight clothes and discover how to resolve them.

Clothes Problem #1: Headaches/Blurry Vision

If you suffer from headaches or blurry vision, ensure that your clothes are not restricting your neck. Tight collars, ties and even jewellery which is too small can reduce blood circulation to your head, leading to a light-headed or dizzy sensation. Counteract this by choosing a larger collar size for your shirts and tying your tie with a loose knot.

Clothes Problem #2: Fainting

Victorian women are known to have succumbed to frequent fainting, which related to the trend of the era wearing corsets. Modern women tend not to wear corsets on a daily basis, although may don one for a special event or night out on the town. If you wear clothes which constrict your lungs, you will find it hard to breathe and possibly faint. Always getting corset and lingerie professionally fitted to avoid this problem.

Clothes Problem #3: Yeast Infection

Yeast infections are sometimes caused by wearing under clothes which are too tight. This type of bacterial infection can be embarrassing, irritating and painful so choose breathable lingerie, made from fabrics such as cotton, and wear skirts, or pants which are loosely fitted in the crotch area.

Clothes Problem #4: Tingling Thigh Syndrome

Tingling thigh syndrome occurs when clothes, such as tightly fitting jeans restrict circulation to the legs. The problem creates a tingling sensation in the nerves and can be resolved by wearing trousers which fit more comfortably on the thigh.

Clothes Problem #5: Back Pain

Nerve problems can also occur with clothes which have a low-rise waist and are very tightly fitted. Upper back pain may be caused if a woman wears incorrectly sized lingerie which does not stabilise the weight of her bust correctly. Choose clothes which a higher and more generous waistline to resolve back pain issues.

Clothes Problem #6: Pain in the Abdomen/Constipation

Pain in the abdomen can occur when clothing with a tight waistband restricts the digestive process this can occur several hours after eating. Choose a looser waistband and adjust your belt after having a meal, to enjoy a greater level of comfort.

Clothes Problem #7: Heartburn/Acid Reflux

Tight clothing can also effect the digestive process by pushing acid from the stomach into the oesophagus. This can be highly uncomfortable and creates a burning sensation. Choose clothes which fit more loosely to avoid this problem.

To conclude all of the common health issues caused by clothes that are too tight can be resolved easily, by selecting a larger clothes size. Remember, if you suffer any of these issues over an extended period of time, seek further assistance from your doctor.
