Finding a good one-piece swimsuit to complement your body may seem quite difficult, especially when you have no idea what size you might need. While many people may think their swimsuit size would match their regular clothing size, it's always recommended to get proper measurements for the best possible results. This is the same case for bikinis, which are also measured a little differently.
To find out your essential swimsuit measurements, there are four main parts that must be measured. Always make sure to stand up straight, relaxed and round figures up to ensure a good swimsuit fit.
Bust Swimsuit Measurement
Every woman has a different bust, which is why getting your personal measurements will help get the most comfortable and supportive swimsuit that can carry you through all the fun activities in the hot sun.
To measure your bust, run a measuring tape along the fullest part of your bust. Make sure to keep the tape level all the way around. This swimsuit measurement is the same that you would need for a bikini but the bikini would also require a cup size.
Waist Swimsuit Measurement
Getting the proper waist measurement is another important point to fit a swimsuit comfortably. Generally, the waist is located just under your last ribs and right above your belly button. In order to find and measure your natural waistline, begin by standing up straight and slightly bend your body down to one side. The area that folds will be your waist.
With the measuring tape level all the way around, measure your natural waist, making sure you are not sucking in your tummy since that will cause you to get the wrong size.
Hip Swimsuit Measurement
The hip area is another difficult spot to find for many people but it's also another crucial point to measure for a good swimsuit. The hip is the region located above thighs and below the belly button. To measure it properly, you must run the measuring tape around the fullest part of your buttocks, making sure the tape is level all the way along.
Torso Swimsuit Measurement
The last and important swimsuit measurement to make, the torso is measured starting at one shoulder. Run the measuring tape down your back, through the legs and back up to the beginning. This last measurement will ensure you get the best fitting swimsuit for your body.
Once you have the proper sizes written down, you can clearly see which swimsuit sizes will work best to show off your beautiful features. Always double-check swimwear measurements with each swimsuit brand and style as they may vary.
